Located 5 miles west of Sioux Falls sits the burgeoning suburb of Brandon, SD. The community of Brandon lives by the motto "Building a Better Life", which has translated into a phenomenal public school system, constant residential development and a thriving economy.
In 2009, Brandon was named the "Community of the Year" by Governor Mike Rounds. Rounds cited Brandon´s steady growth, cooperation among community leaders and residents, economic development and their modest population of 8100+ as culminating factors for the decision to bequeath this prestigious honor. Brandon was also awarded as "Community of the Year" in 2005.
Brandon also offers a variety of activities and events within their city limits. One of South Dakota´s very own wineries, Wilde Prairie Winery, calls Brandon home. Taste testing sessions are offered for guests to enjoy the delicious fermentations of South Dakota grown grapes.
For golf lovers, Brandon offers two competitive courses. Brandon Golf Course provides 18-holes for golfers to test their luck while Hidden Valley Golf Course is a 9-hole pursuit.

Our connections allow for quick access to Minneapolis/St. Paul, Chicago, Kansas City, Omaha and Denver. Our tax levies are very competitive with neighboring communities. We have a weekly newspaper, a shopper, a local cable access channel and a full service post office.
