Located 5 miles west of Sioux Falls sits the burgeoning suburb of Brandon, SD. The community of Brandon lives by the motto "Building a Better Life", which has translated into a phenomenal public school system, constant residential development and a thriving economy.
In 2009, Brandon was named the "Community of the Year" by Governor Mike Rounds. Rounds cited Brandon´s steady growth, cooperation among community leaders and residents, economic development and their modest population of 8100+ as culminating factors for the decision to bequeath this prestigious honor. Brandon was also awarded as "Community of the Year" in 2005.
Brandon also offers a variety of activities and events within their city limits. One of South Dakota´s very own wineries, Wilde Prairie Winery, calls Brandon home. Taste testing sessions are offered for guests to enjoy the delicious fermentations of South Dakota grown grapes.
For golf lovers, Brandon offers two competitive courses. Brandon Golf Course provides 18-holes for golfers to test their luck while Hidden Valley Golf Course is a 9-hole pursuit.
Brandon offers a wide range of retail, service and industrial businesses. The Brandon community boasts a growing Chamber of Commerce and an active Brandon Development Foundation. The community continues to grow through new and expanding businesses and it is now expanding its industrial park.
